We made it! Together with our committed vendors, dedicated staff, and YOU, we’ve come to the end of an exciting first season in our Oakley community. It’s hard to believe that this idea was born only 9 months ago with a small handful of Oakley neighbors. We’ve come so far from that moment, but not without an incredible investment of time, skills, and tons of hard work. There’s only one way to go out: CELEBRATE!!
We have lots of fun in store for you on Thursday. Your vendors will be available as always, so come get your goods one last time! Awaiting you are roasted nuts, baked goods, artisanal goat cheeses, a bounty of fall vegetables, hydroponic culinary herbs, beef and pork products, shiitake mushrooms, handmade chocolates, and bath and body care products.
Make sure to come hungry, because we’re serving up a tasty dinner cooked lovingly with our vendors’ products. Enjoy artisanal breads and cheeses, chicken chili, winter squash bisque, fresh salad, fresh pressed cider and a wide array of chocolates and baked desserts. Large and small dinner plates are available by a suggested donation of $5 and $3 respectively. Donations benefit the growth of the market so we can keep serving you next season! Even better, large dinner plate donations come with a raffle ticket for the chance to win a gift basket chock full of vendor’s goodies! We will be giving away three of these delightful baskets, each at a value of over $50!
We’ve got the kids and pets covered too! Kids and pets can come dressed in their Halloween costume for a chance to win great prizes. Kids six and older can win a $20 gift certificate to Once Upon A Time, Biltmore Village’s locally owned toy store. Kids five and under can win a Halloween haunted house foam kit. Four of these kits will be awarded to the five and under group. And for our four legged companions, we will be giving away a $50 genuine leather dog collar with metal engraved decoration, made by the talented Sakshi Gantenbein of Sakshi’s Old Fashioned Roasted Nuts.
But wait! There’s more! Enjoy live music, a scavenger hunt with prizes (we know! we can’t get enough of giving!), farm animals, antique tractors, balloon artistry, a food demo by Slow Food Asheville, and a visit from Grow With Me Learning Cooperative, offering kid’s activities and healthy snacks.
We can’t wait to see you on Thursday! Need help finding us? Take a look at our directions page.
